Another fabulous SOLID GOLD necklace, while not from my centuries-old family collection, like the other very long solid gold necklace currently listed, this piece strongly resembles other Victorian antique gold bracelets & necklaces in my old family collection: that finest portion of which they reserved for wearing, themselves - and not for sale.

Indeed, it was for that reason (the family collection resemblance), many years ago, that I had to buy this piece from a dealer who knew not its true quality.

This is a custom of mine - from jade bowls to gold necklaces - I often buy MORE of the types of jewelry (or art) my family has owned for CENTURIES!

Why? Partly, because you are most expert at what you grow-up with, partly because you become most attracted to what you grow-up with. Other times, it’s because of the thrill of completing a long unpaired or orphaned set from your ancestors. I had just that happenstance when I come across a jade bowl that matched closely one my grandfather bought in Hong Kong in the 1920’s! A thrilling reunion!

So, to find a masterpiece like this - complete with its original box - cannot be passed-up. And on boxes: reference the tattered & worn-away boxes in the Christie’s auction photos of the multi-million dollar Elizabeth Taylor / Richard Burton collection - no amount of *box wear* can challenge the value of true antiques like these, and that wear only adds to the verisimilitude of age of the precious jewelry inside.

This is the definition of heritage.

Despite its historic origins, this amazing solid gold Victorian necklace presents only as a masterpiece of royal jewelry design, and has a heart-stopping effect: You will have the most impressive, classic, gorgeous gold necklace at your event, and it cannot be missed. THIS IS A VERY LARGE SOLID GOLD NECKLACE.

Especially these days, it is very hard to wear such a large gold necklace and not appear vulgar. It takes the artistry, class, and sophistication of the Old World to create a work of art this huge from solid gold, which has zero hint of vulgarity whatsoever, and quite the contrary, conveys the very highest measure of taste, quality, and beauty as a woman.

A conversation piece, you will be noticed and inspire awe with this necklace.

The locket photo is hidden behind the pendant, and need be known only to you. Unless you choose to share it, no one will know.

This was the intent of the original Victorian designers, and is part of the inimitable quality & thought these Old World jewelers put into their craft.

Do not miss this one.

I have kept my own loved one’s portrait in color over the original black & white 1800s photograph beneath, and at your request (n.b. buyer’s request only), and with your provided photo, I will add that photo of your loved one prior to shipping your purchase.
