U.S.A. (Domestic) Shipping
We are one of the only sellers in the world to typically offer (with very rare exceptions) FREE SHIPPING / CRATING / PACKAGING on nearly every item we sell, even when the cost runs into thousands of dollars. We believe this is part of the duty of the seller, owed to every customer, so that our posted sale price does not exceed expectations. Compare this to today’s 15% - 30% (and more!) buyer’s premium fees at fine auction houses worldwide, along with shipping & crating fees that easily run into the the thousands & tens of thousands of dollars depending upon your item of choice. Your final price rarely looks anything like what you bid for! As active buyers at the world’s finest auction houses, ourselves, including for personal enjoyment, we are well aware of the sting of these ever-rising preposterous buyer’s premium (B.P.) fees, and it is our goal to grant you relief from them! :-) When my grandparents finished buying in the late 1970s / early 1980s, the B.P. fees were only 5% to 10%! And there is no reason for buyer’s premium fees to have risen, as it has no direct connection to inflation, only inefficiency & greed. You are, however, responsible for any *return* shipping costs, should you exercise our return for store credit policy (see below). FOR THE TIME BEING, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO SELL TO U.S. BUYERS. International shipping
Due to rapidly changing tarrif regulations worldwide, all international shipping is temporarily paused. Many merchants have been implementing similar international shipping pauses for the time being. However, if you reside in the U.K., Germany, Taiwan, Japan, UAE/KSA, France, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, or Canada, contact us directly, and we might be able to accomodate your purchase.
Returns = Store Credit Only
Nearly all items we sell are unique and/or high value works of art, which do not lend themselves to return or exchange. Christie’s & Sotheby’s, the most prestigious auction houses in the world, where we purchased many of these treasures, do not accept returns or exchanges, which sets precedent for items of this quality and rarity. On the opposite end of the trust & quality spectrum, even most eBay merchants these days no longer accept any returns. So, this has become the norm from the highest end to the lowest end. The fraud tendencies in ecommerce for scammers who switch shipped items or parts of items (like precious stones or watch movements) for return to sellers - or claim loss to hide theft - has become too great to absorb (even with insurance) for any company, auction house, or seller. However, rather than apply the “no returns” policy widely adopted these days, we are preliminarily offering a TRUST POLICY as follows:
(1) If the item you have purchased is NOT to your liking for whatever reason, notify us within 2 days of receipt, so that we can prepare. We will assume all is well if we have not heard from you within 2 days, and/or if you fail to reply to our satisfaction inquiry, which we will send approximately 48 hours after confirmed delivery of your item.
(2) Including the 2 day period of notifying us of your desire for a return, you will have 10 days (total) to return the item to us, return shipping paid by you, the customer. Please use original packaging (or equivalent, if discarded) to prevent damage, as damaged items cannot be used for full credit amount.
(3) No cash refunds will be accepted or processed. Provided items 1 & 2, above, have been complied with (notification of return within 2 days & return to us within 10 days), and provided we confirm the return item has not been switched, damaged, or tampered with in any way so as to reduce its resale value (our investment), you will be immediately issued store credit in the full amount of your payment for use on any item listed on our website. We might also suggest to you an item in our stock (should you be interested), but not yet listed on the website, at our discretion, for your best satisfaction.
(4) Once an item has been returned, and its value has been used to purchase another item from our stock (a store credit exchange), the new item (or items) you have chosen may not be used for any future exchanges or store credits. In other words, you are allowed one store credit exchange per item for each *CASH PURCHASE ONLY*. Items bought with store credit may not be returned or exchanged. All store credit sales are final.
(5) Unless the buyer negotiates a reduced price (buyer’s “offer”) on the item she or he chooses to use her / his store credit for in exchange for the item she or he is returning, the buyer must pay to the seller the CASH difference between the store credit she / he is using upon return & the final agreed-upon price of the new item she / he has chosen. Until the cash difference (if any) has been paid, the sale of the new item chosen for a store credit exchange will be considered incomplete / pending.
(6) The buyer (customer) will NOT receive a cash refund if she or he chooses an item of lower value for his or her store credit exchange. However, she or he may purchase more than one item using the one-time store credit refund amount, until the store credit amount is exhausted. The buyer is welcome to make lower offers on multiple higher priced items to create an exchange arrangement of one original item purchased with cash for multiple new items; such that his or her store credit (as issued by us) is exhausted with exactitude for a maximum potential refund value & a maximum number of items. However, any such offers by the buyer (customer) converting a single item store credit in exchange for multiple items reduced from the website listed prices by the buyer’s (customer’s) lower offer(s) will be subject to approval or refusal by us, following our internal review. We cannot promise acceptance of any offers we consider unreasonable. All offers below the price listed for sale on the wesbite will be accepted or declined at our discretion.
Example for item 6, above: (A) Customer buys a $20,000 painting, (B) notifies us within 2 days of intent to return, (C) ships item safely to us, which we receive within 8 days after the 2-day return notice (10 days total), (D) we verify the condition of the item & issue a $20,000 store credit (if no damage or other issues are found), (E) using his or her store credit, customer makes offers in such a way that she or he successfully purchases a $10,000 ring & a $10,000 necklace from us, zeroing-out his or her store credit of $20,000, and receiving his or her newly chosen items within our standard packing & shipping times. Buyer then understands that these chosen items are final sales, and can not be returned or exchanged or used for store credit. Buyer also understands that any item returned to us (store credit exchange) has also been returned with full title ownership transferred back to us (100% ownership to us, 0% ownership to the buyer / customer who has returned it), and said item may then be relisted at any time, at our discretion.
